Taavi Tamm is a junior researcher in engineering at Tallinn University of Technology and a naval officer whose background combines maritime affairs, defense, and research. His career has developed as a symbiosis of practical maritime experience and academic competence, with a focus on maritime safety and risk management.

Taavi graduated from the Estonian Maritime Academy of Tallinn University of Technology with both a professional higher education degree in Navigation and a Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, cum laude. He has served in the Estonian Navy and participated in maritime security–related activities, which have given him a strong understanding of decision-making and responsibility in real maritime environments.
